Shear Lags (24qty)

The Shear Head Lag was specifically designed to attach sheet metal to plywood or osb wall sheathing as a design element. Use your imagination how you can use it as a design element for your project. Using the Shear Head requires a 1/4″ pilot to prevent premature shearing of the hex head from the dome head. In the event, the hex head shears prematurely, simply use an angle with a cut off wheel and cut a slot into the dome head and use a flat head screw driver to remove.

Drill a 1/4″ pilot hole and drive the lag in using a 1/2″ socket. If you would like to try the shear head lag in solid wood, I would suggest using an 17/64″ or 9/32″ drill bit for your pilot hole.

The shear lag is mild steel and designed to rust over time as a design element.
